I know there are long gaps between my posts, but the spaces are filled with a lot of living. I just finished working on the 37th NAACP Image Awards. Well, the show taped last night at the Shrine Auditorium, but I'll be wrapping out for the next couple of weeks. After being at work until 3AM, this morning, I had 2 rehearsals scheduled for today. I had to cancel one of them because I was so fatigued I couldn't drag myself out of bed. I made it to the second one, which was for a project that I auditioned for last...August, was it? I didn't get the role then, but I got an e-mail a few weeks ago asking if I was available for a reading for Stephen Schwartz (did I already tell you this?) The project is called "Roofless", and it's going to be FIERCE! I hope I get the chance to do the actual project.
I've been postcarding for the "Dreamgirls" film since last September, and nobody ever called me in, so when my marketing person told me about an open call a few weeks ago, I went. I got called this week, had my fitting, and I'll be on set tomorrow, Tuesday, and Friday of this week! It's background, but I really want to be a part of this project, and maybe God will bless a sista with an upgrade!! I'll let you know.
What else can I tell you? I'm busy beyond belief, not feeling great b/c I'm not eating right (production food, ugh) and not getting enough sleep. I have to fix this. I need to make some changes if I want to have longevity.
