Tired today...

I feel like I'm moving in slow motion.

I had a callback for the "WalMart" spot today. I lost track of time in the office (my last day working for the Image Awards is tomorrow), so I rushed out of the office about 15 minutes after the time when I had intended to leave. I got to the parking lot & realized that I didn't have cash on-hand to get my car out of the lot (I pay and they reimburse me for parking). I had to go to the ATM, get cash & leave the lot.

I got to the audition location about 5 minutes late, but there was no parking. I ended up parking about a mile from the building, then, because the audition was on one of those streets that dead-ends and picks up somewhere else, I walked the LONG WAY back to the building. I got inside and there was a new receptionist at the front desk, and she couldn't tell me where to go, so she asked me to wait until the person training her got back. I waited until I saw someone who looked like he might have a clue, and he pointed me in the right direction.

I got my sides last night, so I practiced them to perfection last night and this morning. Knew the whole thing by heart and I was pretty charming (if I may say so myself). So I walk in, sign in, and am promptly told "oh, we made a change--you are doing something different." Lord help me.

I took my new script over to a hallway and took about 10 minutes to work on it until I felt good about it, then the casting assistant called me in. I went in, the director was very friendly, and gave great direction. I nailed it. Everyone in the room laughed (which was a good thing, given the spot). The director had me do it again, and they all laughed again. He said "everytime you do it, I laugh! Let's see it one more time." I did it. They laughed. It's mine. ;o)

I'll let you know when I get the call.

P.S.--I left the audition skipping, then, once outside, I realized I didn't have a clue as to where my car was parked. *sigh* Took me about 15 minutes to find it. I made it back to the office (much later than I had intended), and have not had lunch yet, so I'm a bit irritable. Plus I am supposed to go to a workshop tonight, and I don't think I'll make it out of here in time to go.

Still, it was a great audition.
