This time last year, I had no health insurance, and hadn't had any for 4 years (since I left my last corporate American job, which was, incidentally, an insurance company). October 1, 2006, I became eligible for SAG health insurance and I was happy. Then I found out they won't pay for a physical until I turn 40. What?? 40?? What if I drop dead BEFORE then because I haven't had a physical for 10 years??? That's LEVEL TWO insurance. Bubble burst.
I just got a letter in the mail saying that as of Oct. 1, 2007 I will be eligible for Level I insurance. That means they'll pay for my vision exam, dental visit, physical, therapy, rehab, and whatever else...
Color me happy. Another milestone. It's all possible.
