Sorry if this is disjointed, but I'M a little disjointed today, so...
I voted on Tuesday, still don't know where Clinton & Obama stand. I'm also kinda salty b/c I'm a registered nonpartisan voter who chose to vote "democrat" this time, and I DID hear (on the news one night) that NP voters who voted Democrat or Independent party had to fill in an extra bubble at the top of the ballot or their respective votes wouldn't count.
Me: WHAT EXTRA BUBBLE????
Color me salty.
Anyhoo--
I went to the NAACP Image Awards Nominees' Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel yesterday. I didn't really want to go. I was exhausted from working long hours over the past week, and I've been to 5 or 6 of these already, so the newness wore off a long time ago. I had to go because I had to work it. Let me tell you - I was so glad that I went. I had a blast. Tisha Campbell-Martin and Tichina Arnold were the MCs, and they were HI-LARIOUS. The event ran long because they were clowning but it was so much fun. J. Holiday performed. Now let me tell you - I had heard of J. Holiday, but just never paid much attention to him. Wouldn't have recognized him if he walked down the street, and wouldn't have cared to. Yesterday he made me a believer. Dude can sing for REAL. We went from luncheon to par-tay in about 5 minutes. Usually the artists at the luncheons sing a couple of songs and call it a day. Bruh had a concert going on up in there. He was the truth, and his band was fyah! No lip syncing and no drum machines. You heard it from me.
I came home from the luncheon, got myself situated, turned off my phone, then went straight to bed. I figured I'd just take a nap. I went to sleep at 5PM and woke up at 7 this morning. Guess I needed it.
I've had some thoughts in my head over the last few days, but haven't had time to put them down anywhere. I'm going to organize my thoughts now and post them later in a separate blog post.
This week will be reeeally busy b/c the show is Thursday, but I'm still around, and I'll be back after it's over. ;o)
