FOR THE LOVE.

Heart on a string [50/365]

Anyone who has ever done anything out of sheer passion will understand
that there are some things that you can't do solely for money, nor for fame,
but for love alone.

I know that
rent must be paid, children (and/ or partners) require feeding,
and indoor plumbing is pretty friggin' cool.

But sometimes,
passion does not trigger the release of funds.

It's pretty cool to get kudos because people like your work. (And you, too.)
It's pretty cool to get perks because people like your work. (And maybe, you, too.)

But ofttimes the answer to "Do you know who I am?" is stony silence.
or
"How much time are you going to spend chasing this dream?"
or
"Grown-ups don't…"

These are the times in which we must burn passion for fuel.

Worn out from two (or more) "day jobs" taken to keep a roof over your head,
the loved-ones' bellies from growling, and indoor toilet privileges,
trussing sandcastles built in the air can seem like child's play, or, even worse:

the work of one driven mad by disillusionment caused by deferred dreams
that threaten to dry up like raisins in the sun.

But anyone who has ever done anything out of sheer passion will understand,
that this is sacred work:
This excavation of self in service to the universe,
this calling,
is not for the faint of heart.

Recognition may not come to you in this lifetime or any other.
Your money may be as short as your days are long.

And it's stressful. And there's nothing cool about it.  No. thing.

But anyone who has done anything fueled by sheer passion will understand,
that there are some things that you can't do solely for money, nor for fame,
but for love alone.

For love, alone, will make you whole.
