This is where I am right now...

I write all the time. Usually in journals because there is a visceral component of putting pen to paper that I don't get when I type, but I have read others' blogs and found them informative as well as inspirational at times, and thought that maybe someone could gain something constructive from my crazy journey as well, so...here I am.

I am an artist. I write, I act, I sing, I...create. I'm from the south side of Chicago, went to college in Iowa City (talk about culture shock), and currently reside in Los Angeles where I am creating an acting career for myself. I say "creating" because to say "pursuing" makes me feel as if it is something elusive and not within my reach. I have chosen to empower myself.

I could stay up all night (I'm a night owl) waxing poetic, but I'll spare you for now. Tomorrow is a busy day--gotta go to the Van Nuys courthouse to take care of some vehicle-related bizness, take a friend to the airport, then head to Inglewood to shoot my last scene in my first PAID independent FEATURE FILM (yayyyy). The name of the film is "3:15". I was on set on Monday, and the actors and crew are the happiest, most professional people I have ever had the joy of working with. Not that I've done much film work at this point in my career, but I'm just sayin'...

I also signed up with Sage Marketing for Actors yesterday. Really trying to push myself toward the last two goals I have set for myself in 2005--SAG eligibility and a national commercial. I had two callbacks for national spots on Tuesday, but I haven't heard anything yet, so I'm sulking a bit, but only for a little while because I gotta keep movin'.

Such is the life of an actor...
