Alright, it's a whole new year and as I do every year, I have put together a list of very specific goals and steps that I need to take in order to reach them. I ain't playin', y'all.
My holidays were peaceful. Mostly. I missed seeing my family (in Chicago), but it was kinda nice not having to deal with the hustle and bustle of holiday travel. I think I wore a groove in the couch with my butt, lol. And watched a lot of movies: Babel, World Trade Center, Curse of the Golden Flower, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Bobby, Akeelah & The Bee, The Pursuit of Happyness...
I ate a lot, organized my closet, went shopping downtown at The Alley & The Garment District, hung out with a friend of mine on Christmas, partied with some other friends the night before NYE, started a budget and storyboard for one of my scripts...good times. Still managed to lose weight, how's that?!
I had my fitting for the Wake Forest commercial today, and I shoot tomorrow. Got up early, went to Pilates (Ca'ryna kicked my butt today), came home and made some phone calls, did a drop with an agent, and drove to Venice for my fitting. I had forgotten how filthy Venice was. Ugh. I'm not sure why, either.
Anyway, my call is 9:30AM tomorrow, and it's in the valley where I live, so I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn.
I was going to take Carolyne Barry's commercial class starting next week, but I thought it might be better for me to participate in as many CD workshops as I can before pilot season really gets going. Then, by the time Carolyne's next session starts (March), I will be done working with the Image Awards, and should have the ball rolling, a new agent, and more CD contacts.
Gotta go! Stuff to do!
