Short & Sweet...

My plan is to make this short and sweet, then I'm going to sleep for 9 hours. That's a BIG deal right now because I have only had about 12 hours of sleep TOTAL in the last 4 days. I've been working on the BET Awards and the show was earlier this evening. I don't get excited by celebrity anymore because I see famous people all the time. What I DO enjoy is watching the work habits of people who are at the top of their game. How someone rehearses is very important. How people conduct themselves when the camera is not on them can be very telling. How an individual treats someone who they don't "have" to be nice to says a lot about them. That's the kind of stuff I like to sit back and observe.

Over the last four days I have had the opportunity to observe some very hard-working, professional, talented individuals. Because I have been working in production for a few years now and have several shows under my belt, I can tell you that this is not always the case. This time, however, people came in ready to work until their performances were perfect (sometimes late into the night), with little to no funky attitudes or "diva"-like behavior. Even if I don't particularly subscribe to the type of "art" a particular artist is peddling, I do respect hard work and dedication, and continue to be inspired by people who are actually WORKING at being successful. This is yet another reminder of what is possible.

Good night! I have an audition for IBM tomorrow, wish a sista success! ;o)

P.S.--I will be soooo glad when grown men start pulling their pants up again. Grown women too. I'm sick of seeing butt-cracks, drawers, and thongs. I know WAYYY more about some people than I ever wanted to know. Ugh.

P.S.S.--And can we stop wearing jewelry in our mouths, people??
