Don't Forget to Remember!

Have you ever noticed that when you feel that you are in a position of "lack," if you aren't careful, it threatens to affect your sense of self worth?  I know my intrinsic value isn't measured by the number of zeroes in my bank account (one), my IMDb Starmeter (down 23% since last week), or the logo on my car (VW), but in not having enough income to pay all of my bills, I felt myself shrinking, and not feeling like "ME."  Like I have no right to be joyful, optimistic, and assertive until I'm back in the black.  The way out of this is FORWARD.  So I made phone calls to make payment arrangements for the bills that I am not able to pay right now, and everyone was surprisingly receptive.  Then I went to my audition for "Three Rivers."  It went well.

Yesterday I was wondering if maybe I hadn't been invited to my commercial agency's annual holiday party because I haven't booked anything new (yet) this year.  Today I received an email saying that the recession has hit them, and they've opted not to even have a party.  The good news is that commercial auditions have picked up considerably!  There's still time in 2009 (it ain't over 'til it's over)!

I'm gong to a screening of "Brothers" tonight, and very excited about it.

That's it for now.

Cheers, everybody, and don't forget to remember that WE determine our own worth.  Sometimes the world doesn't want to believe it, but if we stay on our path, eventually they will have no choice.  Either that or our lives will be so full of things that we're passionate about, we won't care. ;o)
